7:20 AM 02:05
there was a boy a very strange enchanted boy they say he wandered very far very far over land and sea and then one day one magic day he came my way and while we talked of many things fools and kings this he said to me

Lights Out 04:23
there's a little house nestled into the ground it makes soft sounds the people inside move around the stairs go up and down the door swings in and out the people inside move around the people inside move around there's a little town with little houses scattered 'round the streets downtown and on the hill there stands a tower the siren starts to sound the core is melting down and one by one the lights blink out one by one the lights blink out how will you find your way when the lights go out? hands against the wall to feel your way around how will i know you're there when the power's down? are you even there now? there's a little house dark within and dark without it makes soft sounds the people huddled underground dust falls to the ground pieces of sky falling down and in the street the wind blows round in the street the wind blows round

we lived along a tree lined street our little street was lined with trees in the shadow of a tower that filled our little sky with steam i tried to turn the soil under turn it over in my mind we tried to start a brand new chapter but couldn't leave the past behind we keep it in the family the kids, the dog, you, and me but the temperature is rising and we're melting down the plants all melted down they couldn't take the heat the plants all melted down all along the tree lined street i tried to turn the page my fingers slippery with sweat we tried to reach into the future but we cannot touch it yet
4.
the tower in the background poison underneath our feet and the garden we had planted yielding nothing safe to eat the temperature keeps rising can't escape this fever dream but magnolias are blooming all along the tree lined street i was moving, staring through glass as the landscape spun away so fast now i sit at the window, watching people pass and i cannot tell the difference pack all the essentials grab the kids, the dog, the keys my hands tied to the steering wheel as we turn away to leave the tower in the rearview and our garden gone to seed so we keep the a c blasting all along the tree lined street i was sitting and staring through glass watching all of the people pass like gazing through a window at the leaves of grass and trying to tell the difference everything i am and everywhere i been wrapped up in the place i'm in everything i am and everywhere i been fills up all the space within

Scaffolding 03:37
scaffolding covers the mural and the windowpane and we all tell each other we like it better this way for when it gets dark we climb up and look down at the place where we once stood and looked down in the light of midday but i thought i saw you lying on the ground in the middle of the street last night and i thought i saw you when i was looking down from upon that great height did you see me too up on the scaffold silhouetted by the street light did you see me too carried by the air between us in that warm night how thick is a surface? brick upon steel how thick is a surface? how do you feel? we cling to a thin film scaffold on the underlying structure when you are above do you understand what stands under

i'd borrow an hour from the morning to work a little later into the evening we could split thirty minutes for lunch but i'd probably end up wanting the whole thing it's barely march and the trees in the park are blooming i never thought that collapse would feel so soothing but time knows something that money never learned that nothing can be given and nothing can be earned time knows something that money never learned that everything is borrowed and everything returns and i would give anything for another day on Earth i steal half an hour from work to go walking by the river to remind myself that this island is surrounded by water it's barely march and i'm standing in the sun and sweating spending all of my time worried about time i'm spending but time knows something that money never learned that nothing can be given and nothing can be earned time knows something that money never learned that everything is borrowed and everything returns and i would give anything for another day on Earth the Earth goes round like a bicycle wheel the calendar doesn't care how i feel and each and every forth february we get another day on Earth

Over 94 04:46
i am standing over 94 traffic flowing north and south i am waiting on the current to wash me away to bring me home i am standing over 94 traffic flowing north and south i am waiting on the current to wash me away i am waiting to open the door // how lucky to be stuck along the vector caught in between one place and another how fortunate my legs in the river as joyfully my blood flows to surrender // stillness in motion motion and stillness rivers to oceans new york and minneapolis sitllness in motion motion and stillness rivers to oceans what will/have/did i miss

What I Mean 02:09
i keep saying goodbye when i mean to say hello i keep moving faster when i mean to take it slow and i keep saying all the wrong words to you but you know what i mean i killed all my houseplants when i wanted them to grow and i won't pretend that i never reap when i should sow but i don't have to try so hard with you because you know what i mean but all the things that words don't say the empty fullness of the day and all that fills the silence when you go you go you go all that these songs can't portray the obstacles along the way i go quiet and you say i know i know i know i know i should stay here though i feel i need to go and there are things i'm thinking that i should let you know but i'll just think it through even though you already know what i mean
